Didn’t know this about Hopkins.

That waltz was pretty cool. Glad he’s getting recognition for it at last. :)

That video was like something out of a medieval Punch and Judy show. Man. Scary.

Is it just me : the theme of the waltz (Andre Rieu's link above) brings me back to the theme from Hana-Bi. But then the scores are still widely different in their orchestrations and developments. What a creative fellow. Thanks.

Good for him, we should all be so fortunate to live as long and with that much engagement with and zest for life. That piece is well composed, sounds like Hopkins likes Bernstein's music a lot.

Thanks! I'm a musicologist based in Brum and I wasn't aware of this. Is there any info on when it's being performed? I fear I may have missed the opportunity to check it out in person…
