In the Northern Hemisphere of course. If you're downunder, what are you doing on the shortest day of the year?

I want to ride Spoon's giant whicker chicken. If that doesn't work out I will head over to Cedar Key with my canoe.

Worshipping the sun god Melanoma.

(Well, I would except for the thunderstorms plaguing this pleasant pennisula, and the spectre of vector borne illness that is promoting a DEET laden fog of epidemiological uncertainity.)

Must be a peninsula thing, as this pleasant peninsula is also plagued by rain.

My day will be spent watching drip, drip, drip. Ooohh, look! That puddle is bigger now!

Driving my wicker car from here (Jacksonville) to Tampa to see mom. Maybe I'll stop at Virgin Records in Orlando's Downtown Disney cause there arent any good CD stores in Jacksonville.

All this after work here at the wicker factory.

Oh, crap. That's not me. That's Andrew WK.

Sit out on the deck of the empty two bedroom apartment on the top floor of the building I manage tonight and play guitar and look at the view, such as it is.

I'm going to cut outta here in the next half-hour, and drive back to Calgary from Edmonton.... but I'm going to take the "rural-route", listen to tunes and catch some scenery.

From Edmonton head west to Seba Beach, south on 759, catch the 22, pass through Rocky Mountain House, and generally enjoy the horizon-wide blue-sky we have today...

Sure, it will increase the travel time from 2.5 to about 6 hours, but what the hell, it's "moving day" at the office, and so nothing productive is happening here...

What's with the wicker?

I saw "The Wicker Man" last week. Quite an odd movie.

Actually, I'm on the west side of Queen Anne now, where the lovely two bedroom with deck and view rents for a paltry $925/mo.

When I was still on the Hill, I'd climb the ladder to the roof of that building. That's the one thing I miss--lying on a carpet and watching satellites, listening to the crickets I bought at the pet store and let loose in the backyard, or sitting up in a lawn chair looking at the Space Needle, playing guitar while bats flew over the parapet and across my lap. Those suckers cut a tight corner, I'll tell ya...
