A spontaneous dance party and sing along broke out on the subway last night after the Robyn concert at Madison Square Garden.(last link youtube, NSFW) Of course there is previous Robyn coverage.

I both love this, and I want to gently pull those dancers back from the yellow edge.

It honestly fills my heart with incredible joy to know that Robyn is so admired and has had such an affect on the lives of so many others that this is something that took place. Tears in my eyes.

Love this. The tiny part of me that secretly admits I probably moved to New York because I watched Fame at an impressionable age is feeling really giddy right now just watching these.

THIS MAKES ME SO FUCKING HAPPY!!!

I saw U2 in Ft Worth on their Joshua Tree tour, and they ended the show with 40. As the song went on, they encouraged a sing-along as the band left the stage one by one. The show ended with the drummer finishing drumming and walking off stage while the crowd still was singing. And singing. And singing. And the arena lights came up and the crowd kept singing. And the crowd filed out of the arena and kept singing. And across the pedestrian bridges into the parking garage and still singing. Echoing all through the multi-story concrete parking structure, still singing. Still singing. Still singing.

How long to sing this song? I swear a part of me is still singing even now after the end of that concert over 30 years ago.

Concerts are a powerful force in our culture. This video of Robyn fans all living as one makes me so happy I can hardly contain myself! More of this please!

How fun! I totally get it too. I literally just now got home from the Robyn show at The Anthem in Washington, D.C. I had to walk back to the metro in freezing cold rain, but that didn't matter much. Everyone was perfectly happy - the couple that walked ahead of me were singing Honey out loud as they walked. The show was fantastic. Best moment was a sing-along of Dancing on My Own, where the song was derailed in the middle because everyone was clapping so hard. It took a long while before she could re-start it. She seemed genuinely moved, and it was a wonderful audience/artist connection. Highly recommend going to see her, if you have a chance.

I didn't know I needed that. That just helped me get out of bed this morning (after crying a little with joy). Some days this city really is a beautiful place.

See everyone complains about the MTA but 20 minutes between trains means you can really get some dancing done while you wait

I'd vote for more communal sing-a-longs and dancing between ALL trains and busses in all transit areas, for everyone everywhere.

I saw Robyn last week in Seattle. It was more like a dance party than a concert. Was super fun.

I've actually had several friends post videos of "Dancing on My Own" from different cities on this tour in the last week and it's always just so joyful, I love it. The best though was from the Seattle show - the crowd practically exploded when they recognized the opening beats of the song.
