UC Berkeley Library holds punny edible book festival. This is the third year Moffitt library has held the contest for faculty, staff, and students to make food that evokes a classic or favorite book.
The festival, now in its third year on campus, challenges participants to answer the question: How do you translate a beloved text into an edible delight?

Taking over the center of Moffitt’s fourth floor were 16 possibilities, including The Tails of Two Kitties, a chocolate-frosted masterpiece; Tart of Darkness, a heart of greens atop a savory spread; and The Communist Antipasto, a salami-bound tome filled with pages of cheese.

I assume an Animal Farm charcuterie plate would be some combination of a little too on the nose and phoning it in.

Sort of like this joke I guess.

I might have done a Festive Fahrenheit 451 Tray. Tortilla chips and a salsa made with the most insanely hot peppers I could find...

This is so delightful I had to look into it further - this Berkeley page has pictures of all the 2019 entries.

Agh! After Dr Bored for Science and I graduated!

We would have had so much fun with this. We had lots of fun with pumpkin carving during our time at Berkeley.

We had one of these locally this weekend and the kids and I baked "Harry Potter and the Deathly Challah". Oh, and my daughter made "Make Way for Dumplings".
