The 2002 5k competition entries posted. By my count, 366 entries in this year's 5k competition, up from last year. Looks like anyone can still view and rate them like last year, but final judging has changed (list of judges here).

"If you have ever registered with, you can use the username and password you use there, here."

That bit doesn't seem to be working quite yet, unfortunately.

I'm looking forward to going through this year's entries. The science of doing lots in a tiny space. The tradition goes back quite a ways, to the point of packing all sorts of fun stuff into just a few bytes. It's nice to see that the tradition continues in modern times where such a restriction is almost microscopic by way of scale.

Has the deadline passed already? Shame. I had a great little Javascript compression system that could compress almost any single page by roughly 20%. Thing is, I didn't have a good idea for an actual entry and I couldn't find a forum to tell other potential competitors that I could bring a single 6k page in under 5k with few if any changes needed.

Maybe for next year...

The Mefi joint registration worked fine for me (tho' not all the entries did...)
I will return and rate some more - which is the point, view then rate, rather than view and move on.

Very, very IE centric. I'm having a hard time getting a lot of these working in Mozilla. Bummer.

you know what would be sweet? if i didn't have to click twice to see an entry (first on the listing page, and then on the entry page) -- i want to rush off into 5k sweetness straight away, and in the same page!

just whining. yeah.
