THUD (The Harvard Undergraduate Drummers) are "a student-run organization at Harvard College that likes to get together on Monday evenings and hit things." Those things include buckets and boomwhackers. The logical end-point of this perpetual percussive play is a cover of Darude's 1999 trance hit Sandstorm, played on boomwhackers.

This feels very appropriate because Sandstorm will never-not make me think of dorm rooms (specifically the one occupied by my Bulgarian neighbor).

Why can't things like this exist outside of colleges. Why is life not this silly and fun all the time. I loved this.

I'm amazed at how long-lived this song is as a meme. Like, we already thought it was funny in... 2001? 2002? This is like if they were still rickrolling people in 2030 or something.

I totally thought the purple sticks guy was going to have something hidden under the jacket that would do something instead of them just all making their mouths say "psssssssssssss" at the end.

Here is another boomwhacker piece, which is interesting visually, not just musically.

They should open up a Kickstarter to pay for some kind of rack or set of stands or something. Watching one of them bend over a million times seemed distractingly inefficient.

I've developed a personal brand to replace rickrolling. I don't know why, but it amuses me.

Reminds me of this busker in York who plays techno on a a kind of boomhacker keyboard:

Please forgive my being exhausted and female in the world, but the only visible woman in the thing is doing all the work, just saying.
