The Climate Change Paper So Depressing It's Sending People to Therapy

What if I told you there was a paper on climate change that was so uniquely catastrophic, so perspective-altering, and so absolutely depressing that it's sent people to support groups and encouraged them to quit their jobs and move to the countryside? Good news: there is. It's called "Deep Adaptation: A Map for Navigating Climate Tragedy." [pdf]

I'm so grateful that no wealthy corporate and investor types or political parties got hold of a report like this, say 30 years ago, because if they did, about half of them might actively turn against the rest of us and hoard as much of the political control, land and housing, and GDP as possible for themselves to ensure their own continued safety and security. Naah, they'd never throw us overboard to save themselves, that would be so un-American. We're all in this together. Which is not socialism.

Sometimes I wonder if the people chanting that we need a massive wall along our southern border know something deep down.

Maybe subconscious: 1) deny climate change, 2) burn more fossil fuels on purpose to show the liberals, 3) subconsciously realize the truth, 4) fear the refugee crisis--hungry people can be dangerous to your comfortable life.
