Boston Dynamics could give that thing legs.

She sounds so delighted! I love it.

Oh sure, it’s all fun and games until the giant robot with massive knives for arms achieves sentience.

I suspect Ms. Giertz would be OK with that scenario....

Not for long . . .

With all the health problems Simone has had lately, it's great to see her looking so chipper.

+1 on the SRL thing and the post-health crisis thing. Her twitter feed is nice, and so is this post.

It's a great project, and a great story, but I think it occurred in January 2017, before Simon Giertz' brain surgery.

One thing not commonly known about pianos is that they're basically big cast iron harps in a box with felt hammers to strike the strings. They're cast iron because of the high tension of the tuned strings. AFAIK, they're more easily shattered than cut.

That said, super interesting and fun.

I'm sorry to hear about her continuing issues with her brain tumor. It looks like she's posted some videos since then. I hope she's going to be okay.

There's a lot of fiddly bits between the key and the felt hammer

I may be going out on a limb here, but I think we may have found the solution to Brexit.

One of the MegaBots co-founders came from Boston Dynamics. I think it would only have been a matter of time...
