Classic videogame/anime music interpreted for the xylophone

A YouTube channel where three Japanese women play classic videogame and anime music on a giant xylophone while wearing themed hats. "Corridors of Time" from Chrono Trigger
"Big Chocobo" from Final Fantasy III
"Love Song" from Dragon Warrior II
This is the quality stuff I come to MetaFilter for. Bless you for sharing this with us. <3

Tangentially related: 8-bit music theory did a really great video about how Chrono Trigger's soundtrack makes excellent use of non-functional harmony (i.e. harmonies that subvert or just plain don't follow the usual pattern of musical keys and chord progressions).

A marimba is a xylophone.
A marimba is what you play when you want to play a xylophone but you also want it to sound good.

Wow, loving the FFIII prelude because you see the perfect handoffs between the players.

A marimba is a xylophone.
I mean, sort of, in a "all squares are also rectangles" sort of way; but if you write an orchestral part for "xylophone" it will be played on a very different sounding instrument, made of different materials and played with different mallets.
