Terry Gross + Lizzo

I've never enjoyed Terry Gross being put on the spot before this interview. Or maybe I just enjoy Lizzo being honest and unapologetically herself.

What I like is how Terry is obviously a fan (she likes the same music as me! *squeee*), but she's totally unprepared for how totally Lizzo Lizzo is going to be.
And bravo to Lizzo for calling her out like that, because I think the question Terry is wanting to ask is "how scary was it for you to put your big body on display like that", but she's being too delicate and trying to couch it in a different context other than what Lizzo probably meant by using that as her album cover.
Did Terry never see the thing that Lizzo did where she is interviewed and slowly sheds her clothes? It's like Terry doesn't know Lizzo is willing to explore being naked, and that being naked for Lizzo doesn't mean being sexualized.
Fascinating moment in a wonderful interview.

The part at the beginning about the album cover - really interesting to see them (briefly) discuss how the age gap between them changes how nudity is perceived.

I've not heard Lizzo in an interview before but I've been listening to her album a lot recently. This is great and I like the inter-generational feminism discussion.
