Are Humans OP? In this series (more or less), TierZoo (previously) considers whether any of the current animals builds in this crazy little game we call lifeOutside are overpowered and maybe need a nerf. (CW: Sometimes shows filmed or animated animal on animal (humans are animals) violence mostly drawn from documentaries.) posted by Caduceus (13 comments total) 26 users marked this as a favorite

This is absolutely delightful, and pushes both my nerd buttons and my nature loving buttons at the same time. Kudos!

I haven't seen the rest of them yet, but loved the first one. (And the fade-in-out of Dark Souls' "You Died" was just perfect.)

The channel has a fair bit more beyond what I've linked too, if you've never checked it out before. He's been doing a lot of great, fun work the past couple of years.

It's the story of a kid, extremely allergic to fur,
It's the story of what he did, he went where the animals were!

Ohh, am actually watching the honey badger/mustelid vid and this is brilliant, worthy of so much more than my drive-by comment above. The effort put into the writing and editing deserves applause. It's a good gag and executed really well, haha! Cheers for sharing!

(I just noped out at the triangleplace ad, but that's solely me, not a knock on the creator or content).

the creator does a real good job of indicating with his voice exactly when he stops saying things because they are funny and interesting and starts saying things that he is paid by boring people to say. I'm semi-obsessed with tierzoo and can say with confidence that I've never heard more than three seconds of any of the ads.

I've been loving this channel so hard for the last year, nice to see it on the blue (why didn't I think of that?)

I really like the contrarian take on the popular tardigrade build, but I think his criticisms come from focusing on PvP gameplay styles, rather than PvE. Which is why I think he's not really touched on more sedentary builds like plants and fungi. Lost opportunities there.

I mean, he's a zoologist. It's about animals. I mean I'm explaining the joke a little bit here, but plants and fungi are loot used to gain experience in this conceptualization of the world as an MMO, not players like the animals are. PvE in this context is what herbivores are focused on, but they're playing a PvP game where other players will target them so they still need to have their head in the "don't get eaten" game.
