Nóra Békés is a graphic designer born in Hungary who currently resides in the Netherlands. Her work focuses on both typography and the (re-)interpretation of archives over time. She explores a wide range of topics in her art, including the internet, borders, globalized identity, and repetition and craft.
Békés uses spatial and graphic elements to create narratives and stories with multiple layers, like this story about a clay universe; this piece about Argos Panoptes (scroll all the way down for animation); and her current project, Unknown Planet, a metaphorical attempt to reconstruct Hungary’s recent past through archival footage (trailer).
