Thank you for posting this, especially that first video in the above-the-jump link! I found the ending even more heartening than I'd expected.

She's one of the funniest people on tv right now.

Her segments on Drunk History are among the best. She's incredible.

I had never heard of her before this, but OMG, she is a miracle. Off to watch every single thing she's over done.

Yay Amber Ruffin! She's an automatic watch for me.

I've been pretty impressed with Meyers' record of showcasing women, queer, and POC writers (although having said that all the ones who come to mind present as women--maybe he also showcases male or nonbinary writers?):
Ruffin is the current standout but he also gives good airtime to Karen Chee and Jenny Hagel (the other of the "Jokes Seth Can't Tell" co-stars)

And of course the sublime Michelle Wolf also used to be one of his writers:
Michelle Wolf Stand-Up Performance
Jokes Seth Can't Tell with Michelle Wolf
Michelle Wolf Tells Jokes She Wasn't Allowed to Write for Late Night

Hope they keep up the good work. Time for other late night shows to follow suit!

Agreed about Seth Meyers. It's on the strength of talent of writers/performers like Amber Ruffin is why, despite ratings position, he's the most interesting (and yes, validating) late night show whose videos I watch consistently on YT. (Colbert is more misses than hits overall, and Noah is genuinely good as himself, his team not so much)

Any Amber Ruffin video gets an automatic click from me. And now I found she's a Drunk History regular? OMG.

Colbert is more misses than hits overall

This was Colbert's response to the go back comment featuring the Animaniacs.

Can you relink? That doesn't seem to take me anywhere useful.

But sure, sometimes he does great? Most times I kinda want to wiki who his writing team is made up of, but I figure I'll spare myself.

Amber is amazing. IMO, she is to this age what Jon Stewart was to the Bush age.
Seth Meyers is really good too.

Meyers does a great job of highlighting the women on his writing staff. Most recently I have been loving the segment where he and Karen Chee baffle each other with cultural references owing to different generations. Although it does make me feel old.

I love Amber Ruffin SO MUCH, and my favorite bits of hers are currently her talking about her safe space and her celebrating Wonder Woman (which will always GET ME so hard in my funny zone).

The Wonder Woman bit had me in tears from laughter. Saved for when I need some levity in my life! Thanks for this, she is wonderful!

I already knew she was a treasure, but he moment she said "get the f*&k outta my face with that noise, you raggety bastard" was the moment I knew I would follow her through Hell.

I've been wondering for a while now:

Just WHEN is Amber Ruffin going to get her own show?

Just WHEN is Amber Ruffin going to get her own show?

NBC has ordered a pilot.

She also wrote for and appeared in Detroiters, starring Richard from Veep.
