Hollywood to Hengdian

This is interesting, thank you for sharing it.

There's a narrative that pops up sometimes in science fiction and elsewhere about the long-term future of the role of the US in the world market, that we can't remain competitive in basically anything else so the only real remaining export we have is culture. Manufacturing and production sectors are kaput but everyone continues to love and seek out American movies / music / games / &c so places like Hollywood remain profitable. A growing global preference for local media will certainly undermine those kinds of predictions. I wonder if we'll have anything left to export at that point.
