I have not yet made this chili recipe but I have some concerns about the fact that it includes mushrooms. Is mushrooms in chili a thing? Maybe this is a Sonic-specific innovation? Does Sonic also love mushrooms? So many questions.
(that said I am going to need to find a chili dog now. so much harder to get a decent hot dog in Portland than it was in Chicago.)

Just think about what the producers of the upcoming Sonic movie are gonna do... have Dr. Robotnik eating chili dogs while Sonic eats chimichangas?
And how come I've never seen commercial crossover with the fast foot chain Sonic? They're one of the few burger chains that sell chili dogs!

Your concern re: authenticity of the chili once you add mushrooms to it is adorable, considering that the next ingredient on the list is 8 ounces of barbecue sauce from a bottle.
I guess we could rehash the chili: beans or no beans? argument here too, 'cause that can of kidney beans probably isn't doing the chili dogs any favors
