These gals are everywhere here. When you go on a hike on the local trails, they race out in front of you (sometimes on just their two back legs). When one finally darts off to the right or left, another one will soon jump out and start running along. Yesterday I saw a young one not more than an inch long and she could run faster than I could. The cat practically lives in the sweltering garage on the off chance he'll catch one that's come in out of the sun. I sometimes find a lizard tail whipping around in there.

I Was An Asexual Lesbian Whiptail Lizard is probably my least favorite 1950s pulp novel.

I love lizards! This makes me love them even more. Nature is so amazing. They discovered they had 4 sets of chromosomes in 1967?

Thanks for posting. :)

After reading this post, I went out and took a couple of pictures of the whiptails that hang out around the house and put them up on my blog here.
