Children's Book Illustrator Gerald L. Holmes has died.

Gerald Holmes passed away at age 79. Illustrator of the 74 Hank the Cowdog children's books.

I once bought a Hank the Cowdog cassette tape so I could finally find out what "Me Just a Worthless Coyote" was supposed to sound like - I used to sing it to the tune of "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'."

Those books were formative for me growing up and the illustrations played a big part.

Oh man, I was just thinking about Hank the Cowdog a few days ago. RIP.
