If you missed it this summer, Drag Queen Story Time was targeted by white supremacists. They responded with some reading recommendations... and some snark.

Thank you. I will reread it every time I think the world is a shitty place and people are terrible. It's way better than any escapist fantasy.

This is a great response, totally a fair amount of respect given to the substandard humans who took issue with this.

BookBar is awesome, if you ever find yourself in Denver. You're then also well-situated to swing by our cat cafe.

Wow, that is completely and totally fabulous. (Also, TIL about alicorns!)

(Also also I totally want to read several of those books.)

Thank you so much for posting that, clawsoon!

Those are some tasty kids book recs, and hey, my library has them -- at my local branch even. Sweet.

All wrapped in some tasty grade-A snark -- all the better.

That was a surprisingly measured article considering the objections they were responding to. In fact, it could probably be used in a textbook. I ordered one of the books for my youngest granddaughter.

The more rabid church-going objectors will take the joking reference to Satan as an admission of the bookstore's Satanic influence, though. No real loss, they probably only buy Jack Chick tracts anyway.
