Completing her series of seasonal covers for 2019 (previously), Lucy Dacus has released two singles to mark Halloween and Christmas, respectively: "In the Air Tonight" and "Last Christmas". An EP with all of the seasonal covers comes out Friday.

Should add that Dacus has also released original songs as part of the 2019 series, and there's going to be another original song released for New Year's Eve that will be on the EP.

Saw Dacus last year on the boygenius tour. She's extraordinary.

Same. I only knew of her through that -- I had mostly come to see Baker play. Became an instant Dacus fan and her albums have been on heavy rotation since.

I saw her in March touring with Fenne Lily and Mal Blum. She was excellent, and “Night Shift” became an instant favorite song.

I stumbled across her song Night Shift last week and have been listening to little else than Historian, the album it's on since. She's an incredible songwriter.

Lucy Dacus is so good. Her “I Don't Wanna Be Funny Anymore” has been in my regular rotation for nigh on three years.

An EP with all of the seasonal covers comes out Friday.
I'll use this as an excuse to share her boygenius bandmate Phoebe Bridgers' cover of “Friday I'm In Love.”

And I'll use THAT as a segue to share Bridgers' cover of “Teenage Dirtbag.”

I like cover songs.

I've seen her twice in concert and she really is that good. The first time was in a tiny club and then just last month in 800 person venue so it's nice that she seems to be moving up in the world.

When we saw her in the club, we ended up sitting at a table with her parents and little brother. Her parents were just beaming with pride; it was quite charming.
