Golan-Globus...now there's a name I haven't heard for a long, long time.

Starring Lucinda Dickey, whom I had a big crush on back in the day. Dickey was also in Ninja III: The Domination (which an ad in the local paper rendered as Ninja III: The Denomination), in which a ninja sword possessed her (via the ever-popular arcade cabinet) and thus she put on the black pajamas and went around ninjaing. Best scene in the movie, if not in the entire eighties, was when she was trying to resist The Domination by putting a record on the hi-fi and dancing--as one does--and the glowing ninja sword floats over to her stereo and cuts it in half.

"Electric Boogaloo" is an acceptable alternate title for any sequel immediately following the first film. This is trivia law.

@grumpybear69, sure, but just wait until someone makes a movie titled "Electric Boogaloo" and it does well enough so that people demand a sequel. Will "Electric Boogaloo 2: Electric Boogaloo" trigger some kind of bizarre, recursive time loop?

It would be more popular than '2 Electric 2 Boogaloo'.

Lets not forget about the long forgotten third film in the trilogy: Rappin' - Breakdance 3: Electric Boogalee, otherwise known as just Rappin'.

It looks terrible but I may try to dig it up because it was filmed here in Pittsburgh and I recognize some of the streets in that trailer.

The roots of this go deep into history. I worked in our college radio station in the very early 90s and in the booth was a widget plugged into the wall: a Radio Shack "Fone Flasher 2", under which someone had scrawled "ELECTRIC BOOGALOO"

That's the title for the Golan/Globus documentary which I highly recommend

Breakin' 4: Al Gore
Breakin' 5: Bossy

Absolutely true confession time: I saw both Breakin' and Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo in the movie theater first run probably within the first 2 weeks of their release.

Aw, this brings back happy memories! My now-wife and I HAD to watch Breakin' after a period where we were kind of ridiculously obsessed with the Slap Chop Rap and needed to see the source of the incredible dance clips peppered throughout (starting around 1:20, though really, why wouldn't you want to watch the whole thing?). We weren't even going out yet, though I feel like the fact that we were still watching and laughing at that stupid video long after all our friends had gotten over it should have been a sign that we were Meant To Be.

LOVE THIS MOVIE. High school graduation 1984 -- as soon as the grad ceremony ended, I skipped all of celebrations and headed to the theatre to watch it. The earnestness, the music, the just-barely believable acting of these young performers, it all just works. And learning over the years about the impact of Adolfo "Shabba Doo" Quinones on the world of dance - even better. Unabashedly love this movie.
