That fact that this photo is taken in front of Brakebills University, I mean, in front of the Main Library at UBC makes me really happy.

UBC? Wait, this is in Vancouver?

I love my city.

Wow I thought for sure the leather type one was the Mirrah Greatsword from Dark Souls but perhaps leather-bound blades were just a thing.

What a gorgeous wedding photo. Those dresses!

(UBC Main Library! I spent many a happy hour browsing the rabbit warren of stacks as an undergrad. I had heard they were tearing down Main, but am glad they left the central bit intact.)

In the original photo, the Bisexual of the Blade on the left appears to be holding a smaller version of a claymore with one hand. THIS SWORD IS OBVIOUSLY TOO HEAVY AND UNWIELDLY TO BE USED IN ONE HAND IT IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR SUCH SWORDPLAY. C---- literally unwatchable.

im not jealous you're jealous

What a lovely and fun set of images! Congrats to the happy couple. I saw this right on the heels of Hallmark TV designing same sex marriages "too controversial for a TV ad", so this was a nice antidote.

Holy crap I work in that building and I missed seeing this!

Wakannai and hurdy gurdy girl - technically it's no longer Main Library but the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre - the old north and south wings were torn down and new ones built, while the heritage core was gutted then brought up to modern electrical, fire, and earthquake standards. Carry on...

It’s rare and thus especially nice to see representation of bi people in same-sex relationships, too.

Hell, I thought the setting looked vaguely familiar-- then I realized that I walk past those steps every day: it's the main library at UBC. Nice. I will think of them often as I schlep by heading for the ordinary, un-sworded bus loop...

Heh, e-man-- I find I never call it Ike Barber, but the Main Library, and apparently so do others... old names do linger.

Well, that first wedding photo is clearly the greatest picture in the history of wedding photos.
Beautiful, powerful, breathtaking.

This is the greatest wedding-related tweet.
Thanks! We planned it out ourselves and absolutely nerded out because no one could stop us. It's our wedding.
They also had a CAKE BUFFET!

Clearly this is the most important wedding of all times. I love them.

The One-Handed Zweihänder is common enough to get it's own entry at TV Tropes (ObWarning: TV Tropes).

"So anyone who swings around something so huge using only one hand is obviously not someone to be trifled with."

I was in a Minecraft wedding once and highly recommend having swords in a wedding.

Oh sure it's all fun now. But when the Bisexuals of the Blade and the Sword Lesbians get in a three-way fight with the One True Queen of Sweden, it will be nothing but dramatic orchestration and tears...

A shout out to TERRI who took the photos for them.

I got married in Scotland last year. Our wedding insurance policy included coverage of up to £20,0000 to cover either the theft or (intriguingly) "other events" that could have arisen in connection with the ceremonial sword we used to cut the cake. I'm not sure we could have got cover for 2 swords!

Swords are awesome. If I had money, I would have swords everywhere in my house.

Pedantry below:

Noelle Stevenson, creator of She-Ra, also got some sword action in her wedding pics.

She-Ra was created by Larry De Tillo and J. Michael Straczynski. Straczynski's first writing job in tv was on He-Man and then he and Larry worked together to create the lore for She-Ra, per Mattel's desire for a female character to attract more girls.

Stevenson is the Executive Producer and Developer of the re-boot.

brandnewday989: thanks for the well actually. I know all that. Don't care. Noelle created only She-Ra that matters.
