The Christmas card sent between two friends since 1956 Eunice Baily was 16 in 1956 when she first gave a Christmas card to her school friend Clare Brazil. More than six decades later, that very same Christmas card is still being sent back and forth between the two women.

How inspirational!

I have decided to start the same tradition with my BFF, just instead of a physical card it will be the same set of emoticons sent back and forth annually by text:

Six decades here we come!

Greeting card companies hate them! Septuagenarians are killing the holiday card industry! (Couldn't resist. It's very sweet.)

Sweet! It's the 1950's version of a snapchat streak.

Reminds me of the 50-year-old birthday card sent between two friends twice each year since 1970.

Hahaha, my BFF and have been doing this for around 15 years, only it's with a Hallmark Hoops and Yoyo eCard. If Hallmark ever discontinues it, we'll be really depressed.

My father and uncle, now 87 and 77 respectively, have exchanged the same birthday card every year since 1956. A wrinkle to this tradition has been dreaming up surprise ways to deliver the card. One year, my mother made a exact needlepoint Replica of the card for delivery. Another year, the card was handed to my uncle by the dean of the Cathedral of Saint Philip in Atlanta in a reception line after the service. Fun stuff.

That's awesome, charris5005. I hope someone has documented all the ways it has been sent around for family history.

And MetaFilter.

Because I want to read all the ways.
