"famed for her Instagrammable artworks" oof. I know this is a common phrase said about her, but I hate it. She was brutally ostracized, belittled, and demeaned for being a female artist. She struggled with severe depression. Contributing her "fame" to the fact that she can be converted to the bite-size, ultra-consumable squares of instagram is a tad much for my heart. they also don't mention if they contacted her about the discovery. it all just feels like she is inconsequential to her art. they give more credit to cornell, who purchased the art, than to yayoi herself.

I am so sad I didn’t fight the crowds to see her installation when it was in my town. In hindsight, even seeing it in the midst of a frenzy would have been better than missing it!

Oooh, I really like _Deep Grief_. There's the sense of looking out through a veil, but even the world outside it is suffused in pain.

I saw her installation in LA a couple years ago, it was amazing and memorable in a way very few art exhibits are, the immersion experience was captivating.

I like Forlorn Spot best, looks like they are not currently but I hope they are put on display someday.
