Camper Van Beethoven are playing at the Knitting Factory in New York City tonight. After they broke up, they divided into sucky and non-sucky parts. Some members have been putting out pretty consistently good music by themselves over the years. Here's what they've been up to.

sadly, it's not worth the $20 for my unemployed carcase to go find out if what's left of them are still any good.

time to go dig up some key lime pie...

I saw the Wrestling Worms open for Camper Van on the a college campus back in the day (that day being in 90 I think). The Worms sucked. Camper was incredible. I have to disagree with your assessment of Cracker, I think Kerosene Hat is pretty damn good. Glad to see Camper's getting back together (I wondered why take the skin heads bowling was playing on KEXP the other day). Unfortunately, even for my temporarily employed carcass, day of plane fair to NYC is too much for me. Not to mention the $20 ticket price.

I keep meaning to buy the recently released double album complete cover that Camper did of the Fleetwood Mac album, Tusk. Sound like a lot of fun. I read somewhere that it was done in a drunken haze while snowed in at a cabin.

All I know about these guys is "Take the Skinheads Bowling", which was a song some of my camp counselors did back in the day. What was up with that?

none of the mp3s here are actually of camper van beethoven. they're of their non-cracker offspring. there are a few sound samples of Camper here

I thought Cracker Van Beethoven broke up and the singer became Jets to Brazil? That's weird. (Song samples here.)

I also like some of Cracker's stuff a lot, for what it's worth.
