It's amazing she finds the time to scooter around between writing best-sellers. On the other hand, the scooter may give her the time.

ugh Jump. I guess Atwood is playing it safe with their slow scooters and not trying to have some fun on a Lime. But I guess once you've gone full dystopian, you wanna get as far away as possible from the horrors of Skip.

Te Papa / The Museum of New Zealand in the background there. Same part of the waterfront I usually go running on. Usually, I am dodging and cursing tourists on scooters, so it's a good thing I wasn't there at the same time as Ms Atwood. Would have been very embarrassing.

Her talks here didn't seem to go particularly well it seems. Mrs vac2003 and vac2003 Jr. attended the Wellington event and found Kim Hill, the host, and New Zealand's premier interviewer, somewhat tense. While Atwood's intelligence shone through, it was a less than a completely satisfying event. This review found Atword to be "spiky". The Auckland event was hosted by Green Party MP Chöle Swarbrick but that too seemed less than satisfactory with this review describing it as "an expensive waste of everyone's time.". Atwood's claims about indigenous people in Canada were a point of comment, as was Swarbrick's apparent lack of knowledge of Atwood's literacy oeuvre. Yikes.
