In Mexico, there's a Coronavirus Cumbia that has gone viral (ha!) and doctors/nurses have already added a handwashing dance to it.

I will say, the bits where the lady pulls down her face mask to sing, and the part at the end where everyone puts their bare hands in a "go team!" stack, slightly undercut the message here...

I've been wondering if we're going to see "quarantine radio" pop up-- just random people streaming music and news to amuse and encourage other people who are stuck inside. Maybe it will have its own genre?

After randomly encountering some videos from Vietnam on Tik Tok, I went down a bit of a V-pop rabbit hole. They've definitely got some real catchy tunes going on over there, though they're probably going to be always in K-pop's shadow.

the original song, "Ghen", is super catchy and is in my collection. seeing this on John Oliver's Last Week Tonight was an amazing intersection of my interests.
