this is what the all-Bloody-Mary-and-cheeseburger diet can do for a man

Worth it for the lapels alone.

When your lapels are wider than your guitar strap, you are, indeed, a force to be reckoned with.

If that's what comes from the diet, sign me up.

Freddie King fucken rules so hard. I’ve tried his machine gun style strap technique but you kind of need to have 4 foot wide shoulders (and monster lapels, obv) to really make it work.

Actually I think I got the diet wrong; Wikipedia says "According to those who knew him, King's untimely death was due to stress, a legendary "hard-partying lifestyle",[17] and poor diet (he was in the habit of consuming Bloody Marys rather than solid food so as not to waste time when setting up shows)" don't try this, kids

Damn.

Damn.

That is a groove, that is a groove.

From this same wide lapel era (1973-74), there is video of a performance where he gives each band member a solo, and the drummer goes so far off the rails that he USES HIS TEETH TO DETUNE THE TOM HE'S PLAYING.

You never see that kind of razzle dazzle from a blues drummer. King and his band were really something special.
