Independent Music Owners in Favor of Internet Radio "This is a list of artists and small record labels who own the rights to some independent music, who have signed up to be counted. This list is to indicate that there are many music owners who view internet radio as desirable, and that they would like to enter into discussions with internet radio to allow their music to be played, and to circumvent the CARP fee . This is not an agreement or release-- it is just a list of interested parties."

If nothing else, the Celts and folkies will be rocking the Internet for our brave new future. Funny how the cyberpunk authors of decades past didn't forsee this development.

Interesting, but it's a little hard to take the names of the artists seriously. I mean, "Captain Smackdown" at "Buried Booty Records"?

Still, I think it's an important cause, and I wish them the best of luck in their goal to win back the right to play music on the Internet freely.

It's not just Celt and Folk music, there's this little thing that got invented some years ago called hip hop. It's like folk music but without all the crust.

Personally net radio doesn't affect us much, but what I want is my labels tracks back on audiogalaxy! Thank you very much RIAA.

Makes sense for small labels & independent musicians. They can't afford the payola to get their music played on commercial radio, so why not allow internet radio to play their songs at at reduced or no cost? I'm going to book mark this site for when my band releases our new CD in the fall.
