Wow, these are great—attractive and funny. The look reminds me of posters from the 1920s or 1930s!

It's true, friends don't use friends as bear bait. They use enemies.

I like them- fun retro designs. The second one with the diagram of wildlife petting areas was my favorite. Thanks for sharing!

It is so weird that they have chosen to display them cut off until you click on them, at least in Safari on my iPhone. This led to me being a little confused upon initial scrolling about the one that appeared to encourage you, simply, to “TOUCH A BISON!”

Health and safety in national parks? Where's the one that says Don't vote for Republican dickheads?

If you like these, but would prefer something a little more traditional for home decorRanger Doug sells silkscreen reproductions of originals. I purchased one 20 (! holy crap I'm old) years ago in Yellowstone and bought a few more from the website.

With proper matting and framing, they can really tie a room together. Heartily recommended.

Rock, Paper, Scissors, Squirrel! is my favorite of the bunch.

I like the idea of social distancing as applying wildlife safety rules to people. However, given how much trouble people get into disregarding wildlife safety, I suppose the parallel will only go so far.

Same here. “Well, this one seems a bit... out of place.”

I visited Yellowstone back in the early 2000s and got one of these pamphlets about "don't pet the goddamn bison". I wonder how often the Park Service gets together to figure out how to revise their message to have it break through.

The visitor center at Mt Washington in NH, has a plaque commemorating all of the people who have died on the mountain and in the last ten years or so, there's a rising theme around "so-and-so went off trail to take a photo of themselves near {some feature}, slipped and fell to their death." Apparently there's a similar trend about people getting into wildlife encounters because of a need for a selfie with a moose or buffalo.

I also wonder how many park rangers would be happy if selfies just stopped being a thing.

Given the amount of content I see imploring people to stop geotagging photos because it gets every underprepared idiot on Insta out on the trail in flip flops with no water trying to get the same shot, all of them.

One idea that's missing is the reminder that you shouldn't pick or trample plants in the parks as well.

That first one (not messing with you) is a reference to the viral video of a reporter from a Montana TV station reacting to a bison getting to close, here is an interview with him. The park service said he reacted exactly like you are supposed to.

These are absolutely wonderful.

(Also, having seen a bison in person -- at the National Zoo in DC -- they are HUGE and TERRIFYING. They're also breathtaking and staring at one for whole minutes was the best part of the whole trip, but why. why would you get close to one. I am not a small person but I am absolutely confident a bison could accidentally kill me and never notice.

Sometimes I think growing up in/living in cities gave me...interesting...survival instincts in wild places, but other times I think my initial lizard-brain terror at anything larger than a sheep (plus turkeys) is actually rather useful.)

When it comes to the National Parks, this was a thing before selfies were a thing.

On my yearly road trip last year, I went through Yellowstone. Traffic jam on the road. Young bison sauntering down the middle of the road. The day before, on my way to Yellowstone, wondered if the insurance on my rental car covered animal damage...

So, the one car stopped in front of me decides to make a run for it, around the bison, and makes it. I'm next, waiting for my opportunity. Bison stares at me, and starts strolling in my direction. At this point, it's too close for me to make the end run, and I don't want to spook him. In about a minute, I was able to make a run for it. He was clearly not an adult, as he wasn't big enough, but, he was still gigantic. Punk teen Bison, doing whatever he fucking wanted to do...
