Reference for the post subject, for those who missed the joke.

I've never done much sudoku but this is really devious and I love the Zelda theme. It's great!

I recently stumbled upon the "cracking the cryptic" youtube channel / community and have been jamming on augmented sudokus every morning for the past week. Even if I don't get a full solve, it is very satisfying to tackle a ruleset you haven't seen before and work out one or two points of purchase in the logic. These Zelda tribute rulesets are very creative so far, thanks for sharing!

I feel driven to solve this because I love the theme and the concept is cool, but I am really terrible at Sudoku. This is going to take the rest of the quarantine.

I misinterpreted the rules at first - in general, if you complete a 3x3 square correctly, it turns green and you get an item (except when the dungeon rules are different). Which means if you complete a 3x3 square and don't get an item, you have an error! Very helpful.

That was very cool, except I managed to get one of the boards to be ambiguous (verified by putting into a solver... there were 3 possible solutions.)

This was great, and I haven't done much sudoku before. Very challenging. A couple things that would have helped me along the way: I thought that the "obstacles" were artificial blockers to keep you from progressing. They aren't. You won't be able to figure out the board (sometimes a lot of the board) until you get the necessary item. As soon as you're stuck, move on to the next Temple. Second, the Shadow and Forest Temples look like a nightmare with all the potential possibilities, but if you just pick a configuration and try to work through it, you'll eliminate the impossible ones pretty quickly.

This was super fun! I've been on a Sudoku kick ever since watching the Miracle Sudoku video last week. This was the most fun I've ever had with the game.

Hamusutaa - was it the Shadow Temple? Rot13: Gur erny nafjre sbe n pryy pnaabg or jung gur snxr pyhr jnf.

Yeah, with the Shadow Temple it's really, really important to read the rules - I did not, and realised the puzzle was impossible, which gave me a solid clue to its gimmick.

I found the Forest Temple intimidating at first, but it was surprisingly easy to firm up where the sections had to go.

A couple of things I didn't realise before making this post, which I should have mentioned:

* you need a keyboard to fill in the grid, so it can't be done on mobile or tablet.

* the puzzle was tackled in a video last week by the Cracking the Cryptic Youtube channel.

I'm midway through the Spirit Temple, but a little bit I feel like I'm waaaay out on a limb and am about to have to erase a bunch.

Somehow shadow temple was the hardest despite being first. Still not sure why some of the numbers are red for me, even after ive solved it all. A bug I hope.

Are you hiding the false number? If not, it turns the collisions red.

I misinterpreted the Water Temple which made it just as irritating as the original Water Temple. (I thought it was one of those deals where the sum of each shaded line went up in each box.)

This really hooked me – I get bored of sudoku pretty quickly, but the narrative theme and additional strategy of having to switch between rooms made it super compelling. I wish there were more RPG-like sudoku games out there, but I can't seem to find any.

I really enjoyed this, too. If anybody knows of similar puzzle-solving games, I'd love to hear about them.

This was a nice challenge after recently getting into sudoku (after getting heartily sick of picross/nonagrams); I have been playing a randomised online game at expert level for a week or so, and this was a nice change with the extra rules.

It didn't require any advanced (3 triples/swordfish, or hidden quads) techniques which I am still getting the hang of.
