Anyone else joined up for this? With all the grief that ICANN & NSI seem to be causing these days, I'm curious how many other people out there have joined the ICANN Member-At-Large program, and if anyone has posted any comments yet. To me, requiring someone to get 10% of the Asian region, to be self-nominated, seems most improbable.

I just got my membership info in the mail today (about 3-4 months? internet time, baby) but haven't had time to go through it. A molasses-like process it's sure to be.

You only have to get 10% of the votes by other at-large members in your region. Anyway, that's only to get on the nominating ballot. The at-large members DO have 5 seats on the board, and it remains to be seen whether anyone nominated by the committee will be acceptable as a high-profile advocate for those NOT represented by the other interests, e.g. corporations and governments.
