This "the first ever Polish website dedicated to space design and breakthrough (alternative) technology watches of the XXth century. The content is focused on presenting detailed information about collectible timepieces of the 1950-1970's including technical aspects, servicing hints and an additional average price reference. Many servicing descriptions are shown for the first time on the internet to preserve lost knowledge about old forgotten watches." Have not worn a watch in... well won't admit how long... WANT:

CHROMACHRON TIAN HARLAN 1973

(kris)Tian Harlan is a German designer/artist known for akward ideas. His "Chromachron" / "Colour-Time" concept led to the creation of a timepiece for people that do not need to be on time ever :)

There are some really neat (and weird) examples in there.

Man I love this stuff. Those LED watches are slaying!

This is the internet I used to love. Thanks!

The tuning fork timing is astonishing. If I had a watch that hummed at 360 Hz, I'd either have to build a soundproof box for it or destroy it. I'm not sure I quite get what "space design" means. But, the result sure is interesting.

I have never worn a wristwatch except for a two or three week period in junior high, during which I realized that unless I paid constant attention, I'd take it off and leave it somewhere without noticing or being able to remember doing it — so much for that!

But I like them and think they're fascinating, and I somehow ended up with an Accutron, which uses a tuning fork as its oscillator. Right now it's clinging like King Kong to the tall cylinder of one of those Cartesian Diver -esque thermometers which tell you the temperature by the rise and fall of glass bubbles filled with liquids of different colors. That there could be said to be a family resemblance had not occurred to me until this moment.

It shows my age, but that aesthetic of sparse, bright, red LED numerals just screams to me: THE FUTURE
