That's amazing. It's not really very DIY, unless Y owns a fairly well-equipped workshop, but it's still amazing.

I'll be back to comment in more detail once I've seen it all, but is that an early 90s Russian language textbook with a hologram of Gorbachev and St Basil's Cathedral on the cover?

Umm gonna need test samples to make sure they still taste good. 1 or 2 cases should be enough.

I was really surprised by that silver coating technique, and then how he nickel plated it, solder it to brass and then attached it to aluminium. That's some pretty cool processes there.
