Democracy requires a good challenge, and it does not always arrive in soft tones. Judith Butler, who identifies as non binary (YT), thoughtfully addresses a variety of issues, including cancel culture, trans-affirmative feminism, and their recent book in an article in the New Statesman.

So I've seen this link floating around, and such is the utter state of the discussion of trans issues in the UK media that I've been loathe to click on it, given the publication.

There was a terrible piece in the Observer by one of its resident TERFs recently, claiming that JK Rowling being criticised over her new anti-trans novel was due to misogyny, despite the fact that most if not all the criticism referenced was being laid by women (who presumably the author didn't count as "real" women because they were trans).
