Geez, that's a massive departure from BDG's usual oeuvre, but no less a reduction in quality.

This was excellently done. I was already never gonna move to Nebraska, but now I will *extra* not move to Nebraska. Just to be on the safe side.

We ordered a PS4 during quarantine and I quickly got addicted to "Skyrim". Shortly after that, I discovered Brian David Gilbert through his "I read all 337 books in Skyrim so you don't have to".

Brian David Gilbert is a treasure. It almost feels like a waste of his creative talent having him produce a regular video for basic financial advice but this method has increased my rate of cursed dingbats copying by 12% so maybe it evens out.

“If you told me three years ago that I’d become so successful I would own not one but two mandolins,” is a line that should be in more sales pitches. It’s up there with the promise of achieving, “fame, riches, and a dog of your own.”

I've never played any Zelda game but his We made all 78 Breath of the Wild recipes in one day video is not only hilarious, it also first prompted me to make what then became my regular quarantine breakfast of runny fried eggs over rice.

oh my gosh, watched the video, looking for Dorians email address now, but touched the mouse pad right in the middle of the video and freaked out, but there must be an email, but, well, it would be cruel as I really hate spreadsheets, coded one up once, hated writing a spreadsheet program, let alone the pain of actually using one, now did any of you get that email address, really really need that email, a number to txt would be fine, should I get a green sheet, could come in handy if I start posting videos, hmm what about, ohh right, how to find that email address.

Subscribe to my youtube channel, I'll teach you all the secret of finding Dorians email.

(you don't need to go into the woods)

(but it helps)

(no do not go into the woods)

(really do not go into the woods)

I've watched the Jorts video a couple times and never noticed the actual text of the emails in the intro. BDG really does go the extra mile.

Reminiscent of Kids in the Hall or Kyle Mooney at their surrealistic best, and I mean that as a compliment.

His other works are worth watching too.

I adore BDG. Their storytelling via Youtube grapples fluidly across myriad themes. They engage with their mental health struggles, authentic, yet performative positivity, and the endlessness of creating story that has ANY kind of coherency from the signals of a society that tells us we are it's hope, consumers, future, past and downfall.

I love how human it all feels, without breaking out of a parasocial relationship. I never feel like he's trying to be my friend, but that he looked at YouTube and said "this needs more fey, bisexually ambiguous chaos and I have just the right level of anxiety."

My favorite is his short video series Dances Moving. The journey through what could have been a 7 episode satire on dance instructional videos has a well crafted story arc, the songs are really clever and catchy, but...the payoff of last video. The song really helped my mental health through April and May when I found it this year.

In a well-run household, the maid is not permitted to dust the grand mandolin. (This is to be done personally by the underbutler or footman-à-hedge.) A service mandolin may be provided for her to dust in its stead.
