It’s also very important to note that we still have a lost silkie chick running around the neighbourhood so if anyone finds it please contact me so I can reunite the chick with the very sad owner.

I love that part, too! Find your way home, li'l silkie chick!

The chook drama deepens, and turns out to be a more difficult investigation than this hamfisted astroturf crap.

To be honest the Chicken Situation is proving a lot more difficult to handle.

A chicken was found - but it turned out NOT to be the chicken that was lost.

So now we have a chicken without an owner and an owner without a chicken.

And no I do not wish to become embroiled in negotiating chicken ownership arrangements.

Southwick is probably paying his son and his son's mate to run his social media.

A good (terrible) microillustration of the ills wrought by and through Facebook in general.

(As an old MonkeyFilterian, shoutout to gomichild for her unfaltering work, and to Alnedra for posting this. ))))

So, what I have learned is that David Southwick is a member.

Why on earth would you steal a photo of a real person when the thispersondoesnotexist website exists?

Why on earth would you steal a photo of a real person when the thispersondoesnotexist website exists?

Because, up until your post, I had no idea thispersondoesnotexist existed? As most others probably don't either? The chance of being discovered is vanishingly small.

Wait, what? Where? Who?

Mmm, embroiled chicken. Time for lunch!

To be overly generous, we don’t really know if these were posted by Southwick or his team. Were it me, I would’ve just said the messages were highly likely to have come from him.

So now we have a chicken without an owner and an owner without a chicken.

If my Bible studies have taught me anything, it's that we should cleave both in twain.

Maybe Southwick as well, while we have the twain-cleaver out.

We have a lead on yet another found chicken in Elsternwick. Waiting on owner to check if it’s their lost chicken.

We now have 3 chickens in play.

Oh and the other shenanigans still continue.

can some mod please rename this thread to The Tri-Chicken Shenanigan tia

We shouldn’t count our chickens before they escape and roam around the neighbourhood.

Shouldn’t a newly joined and curiously partisan user be flaming out in the comments here by now? What happened to tradition?

Young people nowadays - they just don't care. My arse shoulda been burned outta here hours ago. It could be the chicken content....or society.

gomi, I am 100% here for the chicken content. I hope they will all be OK! It's comforting to know the feathery little guys have such a competent human looking out for them.

So the Australian Liberal party, yet again, demonstrates the garbage that their meritocratic selection process puts in to contention for a seat in parliament.

Bad enough that Melbourne had to go through lockdown - but these narcissists know how to make it just that bit more terrible than it needs to be.

Barbara Spitzer - you are right completely. It has been hard to have a barrage of negativity and then they expect you to lap up their propaganda.

Pallas Athena - I know I've been referring to the chicken situation in a slightly amusing manner, but just this week a community member approached me privately to thank me for using the group to help her find her dogs. They mean everything to her and the support was important.

The second found chicken is not the lost chicken.

Current situation: two mystery found chickens, and one lost chicken.

I have lived in and around Elsternwick for years and I have never encountered one lost chicken, let alone three of them. Cats, dogs, possums, the odd fox, but never chickens. What am I doing wrong?
posted by Joe in Australia at 3:54 PM on November 18, 2020

You may be nearer the foxes?
