“Tell me your name and the name of your cloud and I'll send you a photo of your personal cloud from the skies above my home.” Name your own cloud, and check out the gallery of clouds others have named, like “Dustbunny”, “Floaty Friend”, and “Bartholomew.”

It's tempting to request a cloud named for a lost person or place, as a short-lived virtual memorial... but in a year of so much loss, how would one choose? Can't deluge her with requests.

Maybe I will start naming clouds, just to myself as an everyday thing. I think it would help, to pin the memory to something beautiful and watch it sail away into the sky for a bit.

I hold onto things, places, people; I don't admit to myself that they're never coming back. I should spend more time watching clouds.

I never got my personal cloud, unless there’s a months-long backlog.
