Away in a Meat Manger: "The Meat Manger, created at the annual Brooklyn SausageFest. A nativity scene created with bacon, various sausages, cold cuts, pretzel sticks, and on a bed of sauerkraut." There's also a Flickr photo set.

I did a “meativity” for Christmas a few years back. And this year the scene will be sensibly socially distanced. But let me tell you about “Cheeses of Nazareth”!

I’m in no way telling you what to do but I thought I’d let you know that I’ve read all the COVID literature and there’s been no transmission between wise sausages.

This gives "Quelle est cette odeur agréable?" a whole new meaning

Also, while I'm at it: "O Sizzle Town of Bethleham"

Sadly does not include the most important member of the Manger diorama - the Caganer.

By the looks of the spread, the shepherds were obviously not watching their flocks by night closely enough

Of all the Christmas decorations that could be made of meat they choose to depict people of Jewish heritage out of pork products? OK. I'll be in the corner making beef jerky stars.

At the graudian: minimalist nativities. I am partial to the cleaning products one.

To be fair this is about the beginning of the one major Abrahamic offshoot where they do generally eat pork products.

There’s a manger-tout joke in here but it’s not worth more’n a hill of beans

Not only that, but all the Wise Men's heads look like foreskins.

Dogs, cats, ferrets, pet rats and mice aside, it is one holiday display on which a pygmy goat would not nibble. Or so I should hope.

Quelle est cette odeur agréable,
Bergers, qui ravit tous nos sens?
S'exhale t'il rien de semblable

My deeply religious fundamentalist mother has been gone for lo these many years now so she cannot be offended by my sacrilegious laughter. Two thumbs up to both meaty and minimalist nativity scenes. A++ would laugh and enjoy again.

The easter peep displays are more aesthetically pleasing, although i guess not directly comparable bc those folks dont manufacture their own peeps.

This is what the web is for.

(But, I hope they consider animation in future videos. 'cause that would be even weirder.)

I bet if you made me eat this whole thing, then had the kids hit me with sticks the next day, I could do a reasonable Tió de Nadal impression
