I tried posting this on social media when Outgoing was diagnosed with COVID-19 but it didn't take.

Made me think of this, which I remember from Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai:
In the Kamigata area they have a sort of tiered lunchbox they use for a single day when flower viewing. Upon returning, they throw them away, trampling them underfoot. The end is important in all things.
Also brings to mind Ok Go videos projects

Worth mentioning that the Johns tweeted this video out on Trump’s last full day in office.

So this song being appropriate for Trump is officially endorsed by its songwriters.

I always liked to pretend this song was about Trump, but it was released in 2011. Perhaps they were just startlingly prescient.

I mean, yeah, and the focal person is significant, but the human tendencies that are being focused through any one person are forces that we will never be free from. We need new structures and countering forces in place because the focusing mechanisms are newly powerful and probably not going away without some kind of miracle.

Probably a better memorial song for the admin than No Children.

When Join Us was released, I did not like this song. It certainly ticks all of the TMBG boxes sonically, but I found the lyrics too mean-spirited.

Fast forward to 2016 ...

I've always loved this song. When it first came out, it reminded me of one person in particular that I knew, and it was cathartic for that reason. Now I could not care less where that person is, and it is delightful to realize; it is liberating.

I am feeling like I will soon be liberated from my constant loathing of Trump,* too, which will do me a great amount of good.

I am feeling like I will soon be liberated from my constant loathing of Trump,* too,

There is a non-zero chance that he will make headlines twice more in his life. Once for his conviction, and then... once more after that.

He needs to be kept busy.

ricochet biscuit, does the second one really count as "in his life" though?

I love this song! And last night I dreamed that I was at a party with friends when we learned that Trump had died. In conclusion, this post is reading my mind.

Good point. Would you accept, "In our lifetimes?"
