Mint condition theater: rediscovered lost plays, streaming now

New York's Mint Theater Company has been seeking out and resurrecting forgotten plays for almost 30 years. With theaters closed, they're streaming beautiful archived recordings of previous productions. Now playing: Days To Come (2018 performance), by Lillian Hellman, and Teresa Deevy's Katie Roche (2013). Viewing is free; donations are welcome.

The full season:

Days to Come by Lillian Hellman; 2018 production; streaming January 4 - February 21 : "a family drama set against the backdrop of labor strife in a small Ohio town which threatens to tear apart both town and family"
Katie Roche by Teresa Deevy; 2013 production; streaming February 1 - March 28 : "The play’s mercurial heroine is a servant girl whose romantic ambitions reach for the heavens."

Women Without Men by Hazel Ellis; 2016 production; streaming February 22 - March 21 : "a workplace drama laced with biting humor, set in the teacher’s lounge of a private girls’ boarding school in Ireland in the 1930s"
Yours Unfaithfully by Miles Malleson; 2016 production; streaming March 22 - May 16 : "An “un-romantic comedy” about the price of free love - an insightful, intelligent and exceptionally intimate peek behind the closed doors of an open marriage"
A Picture of Autumn by N.C. Hunter; 2013 production; streaming March 29 - May 23 : "about an aging, once prosperous family living in an aging, once grand manor, and the echoes of Chekhov are unmistakable, if subdued and Anglicized"
The Fatal Weakness by George Kelly; 2014 production; streaming May 17 - June 13 : "an incurable romantic discovers, after 28 years of marriage, that her husband is a lying cheat"

During the streaming period for each production, Mint is paying the actors, directors, and designers a salary.

To view the videos, fill out a simple form with your email address to get an email with a password that allows viewing access. (Or according to the FAQ, you may not need the email: "Passwords for the Silver Lining Series are the author’s name, with the first letter capitalized.")

The password protection means the project gets the blessing of the actors and directors unions.

The ones I've watched are very high quality recordings.

Thank you I'm really looking forward to watching some of this! I've enjoyed a few streaming theater productions during the pandemic and they've been surprisingly enjoyable despite the shift in venue and I'm glad to do something different one evening.
