PJ Vogt is on a leave of absence ... after building a show around his toxic relationship with his co-host, Alex. Fairly predictable, if sad and I think we've all been wondering about this while listening to The Test Kitchen, which is excellent. This has been my favorite pod for years, listened to them on TLDR back in the day. And my understanding is that PJ and Alex were mefites since forever, and there was some rumor about early episodes relating closely to mefi threads... Two questions linger for me ... what was the kerfluffle that ejected them from On The Media's orbit into Gimlet? I only vaguely remember it and I can't find a link. They interviewed some woman and kinda made fun of her and then had her on, didn't apologize and made fun of her after the interview? Then poof they disappeared and "On the Media" never commented? My memory may be faulty. Also, remember when theoretically Emmanuel Dzotsi was an equal co-host with PJ and Alex for a minute but it was weird? What happened to that?
