Plaid and Bob Jaroc - crumax rins An extra on the "Greedy Baby" dvd, also featuring "Super Barrio', the video for crumax runs is a time lapse of CNN from March 19 to April 17th, 2003, covering the initial invasion of Iraq. A time capsule of a pivotal time in US modern history.

How I had somehow not heard of this Plaid album is a mystery to me. Plaid is still a staple in my listening collection (Scoobs in Columbia probably being my all-time favorite).

Anyway, this is super excellent and thanks for sharing.

"I feel old and weary."

That's putting it mildly when I already felt old and weary during the Iraq War...

The very first actual protest I was part of was back in 1991 when I protested Bush the Elder's first war in Iraq.

I thought, in 2004, it was a bitter irony that I'd be protesting Bush the Younger going to war, again, in Iraq for even worse reasons than his father did.

I remember arguing, both here and elsewhere, with Democrats who were full of endless excuses for why Obama couldn't simply stop the damn war. Once a Democrat was in office suddenly questioning the war went from liberal value to dirty filthy hippie leftist garbage.

An entire generation has literally never known a time America wasn't at war in the Middle East.

When my son was born, we were at war in the Middle East. Now my son is 14 and we're still at war in the Middle East.

At this point I'm pretty sure that if has children when he's an adult his children will grow up with the same endless, futile, pointless, war going that is still going today.

Somehow continuing to murder Muslim children has become the one shining example of bipartisanship in America. Now the war has reached the status of an unquestioned part of life.

No one even bothered pretending or hoping that things might change under Biden. We've reached the point where now it is simply a given that any American President, of any Party, will eagerly and cheerfully keep fighting the war, expanding it to different fronts and nations as necessary.

It is 2021 and America is, as always, murdering children in the Middle East.

In three years, as Biden's administration draws to a close I don't know which party will hold Congress, whether or not we'll all be under quarantine for COVIDv variants, or really anything else.

Just one thing will be certain: on MeFi there will be a post filled with links to people marveling that now the endless war is old enough to drink.
