Meow meow meow meow. One of the best known songs ever has gotten updated for the Now with Meow ReMix, an LP of 5 songs from feline artists such as Lupa [Meow], Gatocito [Meow], Sweet Teddy Pepperpaw [Meow], Hearts & Paws [Meow], and Endless Hiss [Meow].

There's an actual vinyl available, if you want. (Also available at Amazon.) If you really want them on a loop for an hour, here you go. I'm personally partial to a much earlier remix.

Actually, I’m not sure if it was this commercial, or more likely being exposed as a child to the vocal idiosyncrasies of Henrietta Pussycat on Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, but I...er...sometimes meow phrases to myself when I’m alone.

In fact, thinking about it more, it has to be Henrietta, because the phrasing and tone I use are almost identical. “Meow meow-meow-meow dinnertime meow, meow take out the trash meow.”

Okay, so I probably shouldn't admit this. But.

I taught myself how to sing and play guitar at the same time by meowing.

It turns out that singing while playing guitar is hard, and my brain really didn't want to deal with words while making chords. So for a while, I kind of got stuck doing cover songs while, um, meowing. Imagine if you will Tom Petty's Free Falling being sung by a rather large, somewhat disconsolate tabby, and you get the idea.

Eventually I moved on to words, but every so often belting out a meow version of something just feels so satisfying...

There's a Spotify playlist that has them all, but I'm guessing it's region-locked, because all I have is Sweet Teddy Pepperpaw, who has now replaced the original as the ear worm I cannot get rid of.
