Is Bald Really Better?

Is Bald really better? Bald R Us is a website dedicated to those who celebrate their baldness (as opposed to shelling out money for Rogaine or Propecia). They esteem women who like their men bald. (Does hair really matter?) They share Hairy Horror Stories , give romantic tips (for the hairless), and allow viewers to ask questions to the Bald Guy. Their motto: "God made a few perfect heads and on the rest He put hair."

"Grass doesn't grow on a busy street."

My favorite quote about baldness pride.

In general I've found that many women who say "hair doesn't matter" are lying through their teeth, as evidenced by every cruel comment I've ever heard from girls about my bald friends. Ladies, you aren't fooling anyone.

Not being the Dirk Squarejaw type, I rely on my full head of hair to impress the ladies. At least that's what I told myself 15 years ago before these landing strips formed just above my temples.

Signed,
Not Bald But Well On My Way.

Am I a freak? I like bald men, hairy backs, and pot bellies!

I guess you could say I don't have a 'back' preference. Who cares?

Calvo just turned me gay. Yum!

Whatever will I tell th' wife? Maybe I'll just shave my head and look in the mirror a lot.

I always had a thing for goth boys with long pretty hair. /me hangs her head in shame.

I've since switched over from femmeboys to guys who either keep their hair buzzed, and/or have little hair to begin with. *and* hairy backs. It's like this switch in my brain... and elsewhere decided "testosterone gooood..."

For some reason, this thread reminds me of a certain bearded lesbian circus juggler.

Is Bald really better?

Depends on your perspective, but I've found that baldness does not necessarily equate with virility. I'll stop there lest I give out too much info, but how much do you really know about hair loss?

dhoyt, hair only matters to cruel girls. That said, I must confess that one of my bald ex-boyfriends (yes, ONE of them) will forever be in my personal pantheon of hotness, due in no small part to his smooth, sexy scalp. Rowr!

Hah, good point Jilly. I guess cruel girls should be avoided, regardless.

Unless you're into that.

My hubby's bald (he started losing his hair at age 16), and he looks damn hot to me.

As my hair slowly starts to recede, I find myself fascinated rather than mortified.

Now if only my hair wouldn't come out of my ears or my nose my life would be complete.

Letting go of my receding hairline and shaving clean is one of the bestest things I ever did.

Hairy backs are way in for 2002, though, and should be so in vogue - if in mild-to-moderate form - through at least 2005, according to my sources.

Are you single, LinemanBear? I'm single.

*flutters eyelashes*

My hair fell out when I was 19, almost all of it, in a matter of a month. I was horrified at first, but this was the era when Michael Stipe of REM shaved his head bald, so I bravely took the Gilette to what hair remained on my head, and have been doing it ever since. It was nice to not have to wear the knit cap 24/7 anymore.

evanizer, please don't do that. The image of a burly bald man fluttering his eyelashes at another burly bald man just wrecks my butch image of you.

However, if you have salt and pepper in your beard, I'll forgive you.

I think bald men have definitely lost most of the social stigma they used to have. Moby and Vin Diesel, to name my two personal favorites. And yes, Patrick Stewart had a good thing going for him, as well. I've also heard Mr. Kingsley mentioned as a member of the "sexy older men" club.

mine started going at 21-22. The clippers made their first appearance at age 23. Now I just use the Mach 3 on my dome a few times a week.

And what about the man that made bald sexy in the first place: Yul Brynner?

Meee-ow!

My husband's bald as a ping pong ball, and in my esteemed opinion, a babe. And the first crush I had on someone who was more man than boy was this guy, shaved head, goatee, and a motorcycle. In fact, now that I go back in the annals of boy-history, I find a fair share of hunky shaved-bald boys in my past.

Ditto

I don't have a real problem with being mostly bald but, if we are completely honest, are there any baldies who, given the choice, would take baldness over a full head of hair? There is a big difference between voluntary baldness by shaving and being forced into it, imho.

I am attracted to bald or balding men. Why? They look sexy, AND, (although I can't scientifically prove it) they tend to have hairy chests, which I *love*. BTW, how many heterosexual men out there say that they prefer women with long hair? I have short hair and can't tell you how many times I have heard that one.

i've been bald for over two years and i still love it.

the goatee just adds to the classic look.
