Language Keepers. Episode One introduces listeners to the language revitalization efforts of the Tolowa Dee-ni’, Karuk, Wukchumni and Kawaiisu Indigenous communities in California.

Tolowa, like other Indigenous languages, is interwoven with the ecosystem where it came into being and thus holds the traditional ecological knowledge of the Tolowa people.

I'm reminded of this previously, and wondering about what kinds of classifications and life-giving knowledge are being lost that we're missing out on in our scientifically-managed monocultures?
