Nice to see not one but two Ruth White tracks here. Can't wait to crank this on a nice midnight drive into the unknown.

Archived interview with Arandel (and French original containing more images).

Really a wonderful mix, sometimes blending up to 8 source tracks, according to the interview. It's interesting how prominently Delia Derbyshire figures in the interview and on the mixtape's cover, as the first (leftmost) composer pictured, but is only included once in the track listing. Many of her works would certainly fit in perfectly - I wonder if copyright issues prevented that?

This is fantastic. I was hoping to see Maryanne Amacher represented: what she created changed so many possibilities for so many. If hers is a new name to you, I encourage you to seek her out.

Thanks for posting!

Many thanks for the post thatwhichfalls - I've been listening to some of Suzanne Ciani's & Laurie Spiegel's music lately, so it's good to see theirs among the familiar names in the list, but I'm especially looking forward to hearing & learning something about the several artists/composers included who are new to me.

A couple of YouTube links for anyone interested: Little Doorways To Paths Not Yet Taken: A Short Film About Laurie Spiegel & 'Sunergy' (Suzanne Ciani performing with Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith).

Perfect, thank you for posting this!

Related, I've seen Lisa Rovner's documentary on women pioneers of electronic music, "Sisters with Transistors" a month ago, which I can only recommend!

the flow is superb -- a suitable beginning to the first rainy day we've had in my region for at least 40 days and 40 nights.

Looking forward to diving into some of the other options from the Arandel Bandcamp
