Alexandra Erin (previously) posts short speculative fiction stories on her Patreon, including a one-sided conversation about dead people posting status updates on Facebook, a fairy tale about a healer's price, a political horror story about scars that don't go away, and a card game in space (part of a series). (Disclaimer: a friend.)
That first story about post mortem Facebook usage contains a perfect line:
I dreamt once that the deceased could still contact the living by telephone but mostly chose not to do so, because they did not want to freak out their loved ones. In the dream, though, John F. Kennedy was prank calling into a the phone lines during a telethon, and delighting in how the volunteers answering the phones telling him how much his accent sounded like JFK’s.

As far as I am concerned, if people could get over the shock and accept what's happening as genuine, then Facebook would have a new feature to advertise.Nice one.
Forget social media, they'd be the first social medium.

There’s something I’m really loving about how Alexandra Erin turns a phrase. Thanks for sharing.

I considered shooting her a text to see what would happen, but decided it was better to just "move on," (which is what therapists help people do, broadly).
