It disturbs me that the youngins are claiming this as their own.

To be fair, it's a hell of a lot funnier pranking public figures with it than random dipshits on IRC, so they can certainly stake a legitimate claim to having elevated it to an art form.

While I am not personally that amused by the juvenile thrill of the BOFA crowd, I have to admit that I have on multiple occasions enjoyed inducting my son and his peers into the blessed presence of the Updog.

I saw this amazing smokestck rising from the Bonner Fahnenfabrik (Bonn flag factory) while walking along the Rhine last week. I can't use it: too old, too prim. But perhaps there is someone on this site who can. Godspeed, young BOFAer, whoever you may be.

now that I think about it, this reminds me so much of how, about 30 or 40 years ago, activists would pie deserving public figures in the face

in today's world, it is a much bloodier business to tangle with law enforcement and risk your record, to say nothing of physically having to tangle with security, but the humble bofa still allows young people to humiliate the pompous in public
