Why is Kim Kitsuragi so cool?

I couldn't remember his last name but the title still made me think of the one Kim I hold in highest* regard and it was in fact the same Kim.
*this regard has a pretty low ceiling given his occupation, even fictionally

Now this is the kind of super specific content I can get behind.
Also as a super specific aside: Disco Elysium does a really good job of encouraging you to roll with failures (pun intended), and avoid save-scumming. The one big exception to this is exactly this sequence in the game (Spoilers: Code 31), which requires you to succeed at a sequence of very difficult skill checks. Yet if you pass, it rewards you with one of the most sublime sequences in video game history.

You probably have heard some games are incredible. They might be, but this one is *super* incredible. You want to navigate these dialogue trees, you need it.
