These may be quite interesting to adapt to apartment life or places that typically don't get nice snow.

I think that adapting this concept to whatever your life's like will be just as enjoyable as an overall concept.

My library did something like this last year, with activities evenly divided split among local outdoor activities and accessing the library's online resources (b/c of Covid limiting in-person accessibility). I learned a lot about neat digital resources that I now access all the time. Usually when you finish their winter reading challenge or local engagement challenge, you get to pick a book from the sale rack or you get a grocery tote or something.

But last year, if you completed every square on the winter challenge calendar? YOU GOT A TOQUE WITH THE LIBRARY'S LOGO ON IT.

Friends, I have never hiked so enthusiastically in my entire life.

I am not an outdoor person. But for a winter hat WITH THE LIBRARY'S LOGO? I hiked my butt off.

(Totally worth it, everybody's jealous of my library hat when I wear it.)

A TOQUE WITH THE LIBRARY'S LOGO ON IT

Today I learned that the word “toque” does not exclusively refer to an enormous chef’s hat.

It was a fun visual while it lasted, though.

As someone who calls those hats toboggans, I'm just glad not to be the source of confusion for once.

mightshould -- there seems to be an entire second calendar (scroll down the page) made for warm weather!
